    Perfect introduction

Posted by L Leaper on 11th Nov 2009

This book serves as perfect introduction for anyone interested in learning Tarot. The ‘Bible’ series are well known and of great value and this book is no exception. Tarot can feel for the newcomer almost impossible to grasp there are many cards so many meanings and protocols to learn. This book begins with easy steps that gently teach and guide from choosing a deck, how to prepare for a reading, how to choose a spread and understand the underlying principles and how the cards allow insight to everyday life situations. There is detailed but not over weighty explanations of the majors and the minors the cards are fully illustrated and the teaching is very direct and easily understood. There are various exercises throughout the book none of which are over difficult and these will enable the student to find his or her way with more certainty. Within this book as a constant are perspectives that are refreshing and different there are ways shown of how to relate to the cards and discover how the cards touch our energy and life experience. Much care is taken to personalise our relationship with the cards. Especially of value is that way is made clear of how to move towards intuitive readings and also how to create the correct ambience and properly connect with the energies involved. The more I look at this book and the advice offered the more I find and this book is extremely comprehensive without becoming heavy or pedantic. It creates perfect framework for a reader to flourish and from my point of view having bought many Tarot books this is one that serves me above many for the directness and transparency is of great merit. Most tarot readers will allow that there is always something new to learn and I find in this book new facets to a wonderful companion of life journey the Tarot. I do fully recommend this book and feel most Tarot readers will find much of interest here.. I would advise newcomers to buy this book before their very first deck…they will find here all they need of foundation.

    An Absolute Must

Posted by Helen on 13th Jul 2007

I only started to study tarot recently and bought two tarot books to guide me, this being one of them. Now this is the only one I use at the moment. I find tarot to be very deep in comparison to say angel cards which I use on a regular basis for myself and my friends. I find tarot to be more complex and personal and using this book gives you an insight to tarot and gently breaks it down. Obviously when reading a tarot spread you have to use your intuition and believe me I really try hard to! But this book is there as a back up and guide. The book explains how tarot began, gives a full run down of the meanings of the cards including many spreads to try, but also gives you information on crytals, spells and many more things to aid your tarot readings to a deeper level. An absolute must for any one who is interested in tarot. It is beautifully presented and a book you could pick up and read over and over.
