Helping children to be more mindful is a powerful gift. By being mindful they will learn to recognize and manage their emotions, be more able to calm down when they are upset, become better at focusing on important tasks, and more able to interact with others with empathy and generosity. These are fundamental skills that children will need throughout their life, but that they often aren't taught explicitly. In Mindfulness for Children, parents will first learn how to be more mindful themselves before teaching their children basic mindfulness skills. Each activity includes variations for different age groups, along with "in the moment" how-tos for particularly stressful moments.

About the Author
Sarah Rudell Beach became a mother in 2006, embarking on a powerful journey in both motherhood, and mindfulness. She has had a personal mindfulness practice for many years now, holds a master's degree in education, and is a Mindful Schools Certified Instructor. As the executive director of Brilliant Mindfulness, she teaches mindfulness courses to children, teens, and adults. She also has 17 years of experience as a high school teacher. Sarah is the author of Mindful Moments for Busy Moms and And Breathe... both published by CICO Books. She writes about mindfulness and healthy living for the Huffington Post and UK magazine Teen Breathe, as well as on her blog, Left Brain Buddha. She lives in Minneapolis, USA, with her husband and two children.
