Orange Organic Pure Essential Oil (10ml) - Citrus Sinensis
Orange oil is a zesty citrus fragrance; sweet and fruity, it is typical of the scent you would find from a freshly grated orange peel.
This cheerful aroma has a very positive effect on moods and can aid in lifting depression or when in need of emotional warmth. Whilst being very refreshing, it can also be beneficial in calming the nervous system particularly with conditions such as insomnia.
Physically, orange oil can help stimulate digestion, maintain the immune system, relive sore muscles, stimulate circulation and is particularly good in aiding skin conditions such as oily complexions, dry skin, acne or regenerating aging skin.
Within other uses you could use orange oil in a diffuser to create an uplifting room fragrance when at home or at work. If mixed with linseed oil, this helps to protect furniture from woodworm and is an excellent cleaner.
Origin & History
The orange is indigenous to tropical Asia and reached China around 2200BC but due to its scarcity it was primarily given to Chinese royalty; eventually the Chinese cultivated their own variety, the mandarin. Oranges are now widely cultivated around the Mediterranean for its juice and fruit, and many are grown in California and Florida. To this day as well it being used within the drink industry, it is widely used within food, perfume and pharmaceutical industries. A wide culinary favorite, it is frequently used within marmalades, sweets, desserts and mulled wine.
Blending Suggestions Orange is a very versatile oil that mixes well with many others; it can be added to blends to give warmth to other aromas, particually when added to other spicy oils. You could try it with coriander, clove, cinnamon and nutmeg, or flowery scents like ylang ylang, rose, jasmine and neroli.
You can also try creating a festive blend which works very well around the Christmas season, try blending with oils such as clove and cinnamon, or with the coniferous oils like cypress and juniper. Other combinations that can work worth are sandalwood, angelica, frankincense, geranium, lavender, petitgrain and rosewood.
How to Store Your Oils: Essential oils can be quite delicate substances and factors such as strong light, heat, air and moisture can affect them. They are best kept in a cool, dark and dry place ideally in a box and in a cupboard. We wouldn't recommend transferring your essential oils into plastic bottles as the plastic can interact with the chemical makeup of your essential oils and may cause the plastic to deteriorate. Keeping them in their dark, amber bottle with the lid will prolong their life. Oils that are stored in the correct condition should last for years (citrus oils have a slightly shorter life).
Size: 10ml, presented in an amber glass bottle.
