Fossil Dish with Goniatite

Each dish is highly polished from rock that naturally contains a complex and captivating fossil matrix. Each pattern is of course unique. Although the sizing of the dish is constant.

As each dish is unique, the colours do vary between them. For instance, some may be more black, whilst others will look more reddish-grey.

Each dish features a central raised area capped with a decorative spiral goniatite fossil.

These dishes can be used for a variety of purposes - for smudge sticks, displaying crystals or displayed on their own as a decorative dish.
[If using for smudge sticks please take care not to leave unattended]

These attractive heavy dishes are sculpted from Orthoceras and Goniatite fossils in matrix that have been polished smooth. Theses are ideal for pot-pourri, your crystal collection, jewellery or just as it is - an ornament. It is oval in shape and a good size. Each dish is totally unique.

Goniatites became extinct about 250 million years ago! They are shelled cephalopods related to squid, octopus, and belemnites. They were a free swimming animal possessing a head, eyes and tentacles. They are closely related to ammonites. They lived in the sea and seemed to like normal salinity. They are found in North America, Europe, North Africa and Australasia.

Fossils such as this remind us that energy is transmutable and cannot be destroyed and give us a sense of connection to ancient civilisations who would have also held fossils like these.

Size of Dishes: 17.5 x 23 cm (at widest point) x 3.5 cm approximately. Each dish will be slightly different in size. Please note, for frequent buyer of our fossil dishes, the sizes may change between the shipments that we receive.
