The pipe is central to Native American beliefs. It is a tool used to carry the prayers of those who smoke it to Great Spirit. The smoke carries these prayers as they drift upwards. Whole books have been written about the pipe, the most famous being by “The Sacred Pipe” by Black Elk. The pipe was brought to the Native American people by White Buffalo Calf woman. Often a pipe is carried in two halves (the bowl and the stem), one being male and the other female and they are brought together in ceremony. Tobacco or kinnick kinnick can be placed in the bowl and the pipe is often wrapped in a red fabric to protect it physically and energetically. As is common to most Native American ceremonies the pipe any implements are usually smudged before use.

Dimensions:
For antler pipe length from tip to the outside edge of bowl is about 15 cms (About 6 inches).

Some of the features of the pipe may vary. For examples sometimes the arrowhead stone is a crystal and the piece of antler can vary in size.

Other info: This pipe does not come apart.

More About the Symbol of the Deer
Deer energy is very gentle. Deer energy ignores negativity and bad behaviour and cuts right through this to find the true heart of whatever or whoever they are dealing with. For someone who wishes to hold bad thoughts about others this can be hard to deal with as deer energy offers nothing for them to fight with and just like the five of swords in the Tarot they may just put their sword down and stop fighting leaving themselves open to love and compassion.

The Buddha is often depicted with a deer and in many legends knights (such as Sir Gawain) follow deer deep into woodland to find new adventures and new heart. Deer brings a healing gift because it is so gentle and only sees through the eyes of love. This is a powerful thing as it can cause others to respond back in kind. Thus healing them.

    Beautiful object

Posted by Carpathianangel , West Midlands on 5th Oct 2013

The picture on the listing does not do this peace pipe justice! A genuine, unique, individually made product. The one I received was darker in colour which I find more aesthetically pleasing than the one represented in the listing. It is such a beautiful object and wonderfully crafted, a lot of intricate hard work has gone into the making of it. It has a tag attached with a little of the history of the meaning and use of the peace pipe, signed and numbered by the Navajo North American Indian who made it. This item makes a wonderful present or family keepsake for anyone interested in the Navajo communities and their crafts. I have ordered from Holisticshop many times and I am always so impressed and not disappointed with their products, efficient and speedy response, service and delivery! Excellent! Thank you :)
