Rose Quartz
Rose quartz is one of the most popular crystals along with amethyst and clear quartz. It has a calming and soothing energy. It promotes self-love and helps overcome feelings of not being 'good' enough, self-criticism and resentment. It reminds us that when you love yourself and are happy in the moment there is no need for haste. Rose quartz embraces the one true currency of life, love.
Amethyst
The wonderfully coloured amethyst, with its variety of shades of purple reminds us of the spiritual thread that runs through our life and can be used as a tool to aid spiritual awakening and intuition. Amethyst can bring a calming influence and therefore be of great help in times of change. It's excellent to hold or have by you when you're practicing meditation and when placed in a room it can help absorb negativity. Placed under the pillow it may help you sleep better.
Red Jasper
The family of jasper stones have an energy that's very grounding and stabilizing. They promote the need to reduce insecurity, guilt, worry and fear and remind us of our connection with mother earth. Jasper is a great stone to have around if you're in need of healing, or if you're a healer, as it can be a useful tool for re-balancing the aura. Due to its grounding abilities, it's a good stone to hold or have close by if you're meditating, healing or involved in similar activities. It can be held in the hand whilst you visualize roots sprouting forth from your feet, securing and grounding you to the earth.
When travelling a path of spiritual self-improvement sometimes we can become too focussed on the heavens above and we can become disenchanted with our earthly existence. Red jasper is an earthly stone and helps combat this by reminding us that we are not here by ourselves on the physical plane. It is a stone good to hold when on excursions by oneself, periods of solitude such as retreats or if you live alone. Some keep it by the bed because in some way it helps them connect to and remember their dreams, and can also help protect those who astral travel.
Sodalite
Sodalite is so named due to its sodium content. Its appearance has some similarities to lapis lazuli but anyone familiar with both can usually distinguish between them.
The gentle spiritual energy of sodalite promotes the need to become more complete and unify the sub-conscious, conscious and higher consciousness. When we feel more complete in this way we are able to trust more the subtle things we feel - things that can easily be dismissed as 'just a feeling'. With this new connection fears about spiritual matters can resolve themselves.
