About the Artist
Lee Bogle is an artist who uses detail and a fine command of media to produce classic images of Native Americans. His paintings of women, often solitary and contemplative, are romatic figures for which he has become well known. Bogle is a native of the Northwest and is often inspired to use the natural grasses or weeds of that area to lay watercolour washes on his paintings. His paintings are built with bold brush strokes expressing his love of precise detail and what he defines as a passion for art. "Painting defines me," Bogle says. "Its who I am, not just what I do." Bogle has a art degree from Central Washington University and has done graduate study at the University of Washington. His paintings have been exhibited in galleries and museums throughout the country and his prints are sellouts to his many avid collectors.
