Aromatherapy an A-Z (Davis) by Patricia Davis
Information: 335 pages, paperback
They say: Here is the most up-to-date encyclopaedia of Aromatherapy available today, with over 400 entries covering more than 200 conditions from 'abscess' to 'zona', and 82 essential oils. 'The simple fact that the A-Z has sold over 300,000 copies worldwide since it was first published in 1988 speaks for itself. It has earned and kept it's place amongst the small handful of indispensable reference books on aromatherapy.'
'The range and scope of practical information and guidance gathered within these 336 pages is absolutely staggering, and the affection and respect in which the A-Z is held by the practising aromatherapist is a thoroughly deserved accolade to this book that has been justly subtitled 'the aromatherapist's bible'.' Aromatherapy Quarterly
'This has to be one of the most thoroughly researched books written on aromatherapy... given depth with its other entries, from 'antibiotics' to 'zinc'.' International Journal of Aromatherapy

Reviews - rated 4/5 based on customer reviews4 out of 5 By Rainbow mumThe front of the book proclaims it to be 'the most comprehensive guide to aromatherapy ever published' and I am going to have to agree with that bold statement. At one point I had a shelf groaning under the weight of aromatherapy books, now they are all discarded in favour of this amazing book. It is very easy to read and understand, unlike some other books on the subject I've read (now gracing the shelves of the local charity shop!). It does not just cover the oils and their uses; it also includes many illnesses, so it is easy to cross reference information. And after extensive reading on the subject I was surprised to come across 'new' oils. I have found it invaluable in treating ailments with my children, who are highly sensitive to conventional medicine and even my cats!!!! I really wouldn't be without this fantastic and informative book. If you are looking to learn about aromatherapy, this really is a 'must have' book.
