Dimensions: Approximately 60 x 60 cms. When fully laid out there is space for four cards high and six cards across. (Based on standard Tarot cards)
Silk is a natural fibre. Silk fabrics may therefore contain minor variations and irregularities that are characteristic of silk yarn and should in no way be treated as defects.
This is a 100% heavy quality silk. The edges are folded over then stitched is a very secure and attractive way. The colours are superb - bright, clear and rich. The material has a good weight to it. This means drafts wont blow up the edges, and also protects your cards better when wrapped.
Some people wrap their reading cloth around their cards, others prefer to keep their cards in a Tarot bag along with their folded cloth. Tarot reading cloths provide a clean, defined space from which to read.
Many people prefer natural fabrics such as silk or cotton to wrap their cards in as opposed to manmade fibres, as they feel the energy they hold is more suited to Tarot reading.
More About the Symbolism of the Colour Yellow
Yellow, with its bright and mood-lifting hue, is typically associated with clarity, happiness and communication. It's a vibrant colour, reflecting the shade of the sun - a source of warmth, vitality and light, rather than darkness. Within the chakra system, yellow represents the solar plexus area.
In Buddhism, the colour yellow is treated with high regard, as the robes worn by Buddhist monks are radiant saffron yellow. Gautama Buddha chose the robe colour to represent a symbol of humility and separation from materialistic society.
In magic, yellow represents intellectual achievement, travel, moving house and career mindedness, and is linked to the planet Mercury.
But yellow does have some negative associations. Our relation to yellow can easily be thrown off balance, as it's also related to fears, nervousness and anxiety. This can be rectified by addressing the negative issues - facing fears, dealing with anxiety and nerves - and can be helped by rebalancing the chakras, doing reiki or other forms of healing.
