They say: In this extraordinary book, best selling author Dr Wayne W. Dyer has reviewed hundreds of translations of the Tao Te Ching and has written 81 distinct essays on how to apply the ancient wisdom of Lao Tzu to today's modern world. Each chapter is designed for actually living the Tao or the Great Way today. Wayne spent one entire year reading, researching, and meditating on Lao Tzu's messages, practicing them each day and ultimately writing down these essays as he felt Lao Tzu wanted you to know them. This is a work to be read slowly, one essay a day. As Wayne says, "This is a book that will forever change the way you look at your life, and the result will be that you'll live in a new world aligned with nature". This book will thrill anyone interested in living a happier, more inspired life.

I was first attracted to this book by its title "Change Your Thoughts, Change Your Life" which is both profound and yet simple at the same time. Our thoughts create our world whether we are aware of it or not, and this book has the 'magic' in it which has helped me realise that I can change the patterns of thoughts in my head that often I am unaware I am thinking. I have dipped in and out of this book reading the chapters that appealed at the time, and what stands out for me is the beauty of the words that Dr Wayne Dyer has chosen for each verse of the Tao at the beginning of each chapter. There are numerous translations of the Tao de Ching but so many feel lifeless compared to the version in this book. The words speak on so many levels and I find that reading a chapter and letting it sink in is the best way for me. Reading the verse and letting the words find their own path and then after a while reading Wayne Dyers thoughts on the same verse is a great way of allowing the message to come home to me on all levels. To be reminded to be aware of the wonders of life going on around us at all times is such a gift. In my mind not a book to be hurried rather a book to be savoured and enjoyed for a long time.
