Animal Spirit Guides (Book) by Steven Farmer
Information: 455 pages, paperback
They say: After the publication of Steven Farmer's best-selling book Power Animals, many people enquired about the meaning of spirit animals that weren't contained in that work. In this book, Steven provides concise, relevant details about the significance of more than 200 animals that may come to you in physical or symbolic form as guides and teachers.
For each animal listed, you'll find general meanings relating to the visitation; practical ways that they can help you as spirit guides; and how, as your power animal, they reflect characteristics that you possess. You'll also find a "whom-to-call-on" section that will tell you which spirit guide to invoke for any specific purpose.
Steven D. Farmer is a shamanic practitioner, ordained minister, licensed psychotherapist, and former college professor with over 30 years' experience as a professional healer and teacher. He has appeared as a guest on a number of television and radio shows and is the author of several other books and articles, including the best-selling Sacred Ceremony; Power Animals, and Power Animal Oracle Cards. He makes his home in Laguna Beach, California, with his wife, Doreen Virtue.

Reviews - rated 5/5 based on customer reviews5 out of 5 By Vernon MarshallThis book is a magnificent tome and, as far as I am aware, the only book of its kind. Its 456 pages are of very high calibre and at a very reasonable price. Over 200 animal spirit guides are featured with information on each as to what is meant if such an animal spirit guide calls on you, for what reason to call on them, and what is the meaning of such an animal spirit guide if it is your power animal. There are sections on the significance of animal spirit guides in the shamanic tradition, how to use the information in divination, and how to interpret messages from spirit guides. There is a long section on various reasons to call on animal spirit guides and how to match the animal with the purpose in mind. There is even a meditation to use to call upon help from animal spirit guides. The resources section, listing books, DVDs, organisations and websites is very inclusive and wide-ranging, although I must point out that this is an American book so there is nothing listed from this side of the Atlantic. The websites listed are excellent and very useful.
This book is a masterpiece, written by a world renowned shaman. I rate it very highly and for all those even vaguely interested in this subject this is a thoroughly enjoyable and useful publication.
