Every culture has its folk magic - its shared magical practices that may vary by culture and community, but with commonalities. In Living Folk Magic, Mary-Grace Fahrun explores the topic from how to build an entire folk magic practice to understanding the practices so that they can be applied wherever they are needed or desired.
Mary-Grace offers an exploration of the primary functions of folk magic - cleansing, protecting, blessing, cursing - as well as instructions on how to build altars (whether openly or secretly), practice divination, communicate with spirits, and more. Her book is titled Living Folk Magic to emphasize that folk magic is not a dead thing of the past but something alive, vital, and modern. Her goal is to help readers actually live folk magic as fulfilling and successful practice.

About the Author
Mary-Grace Fahrun was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, to Italian immigrant parents and grew up in the Italian neighbourhoods of Connecticut and Montreal. She is the author of the influential book Italian Folk Magic: Rue’s Kitchen Witchery and the creatrix of Rue’s Kitchen, her website dedicated to the preservation of Italian folk practices. Mary-Grace resides in British Columbia, Canada.
