The Lotus Flower is commonly recognized as a symbol of achieving enlightenment, peacefulness and spirituality. This candle holder can be fitted with tea-light candles or slightly larger candles - the diameter of the middle, the actual 'holder' is roughly 4.5cm, so it will fit any candle with the same diameter.

It is a lovely light white colour and when a candle is lit in the middle, because of the layers of coloured glass petals this then emits a soft glow. The candle is sheltered enough to be used both indoors and outdoors.

The light is softer compared to electric lighting which can help to clear your mind and would compliment meditation, yoga or chakra re-alignment (although it still looks lovely even without a candle lit inside). It has a sturdy weight, so it would also be suitable as a large paperweight, but can be decoratively placed on the mantelpiece or it would make a perfect ornamental piece around the home.

Please note the colour of the tea-light holder may vary very slightly from the colour on your screen due to monitor colour restrictions.

Size of Tea-Light Holder: Diameter at the widest point is approximately 12cm (4.8")

More About the Symbol of the Lotus Flower
The lotus flower is held sacred in many traditions as a symbol of rebirth, growing up from the mud towards the light where it opens up and blossoms. Each morning the flower opens. At night it sinks underwater again.

The lotus flower is central to one of the Egyptian creation stories where the lotus flower gave birth to the sun. A lotus flower emerged from the great darkness. From within the lotus flower came the divine child Re, the sun. The petals opened and Re cast his brilliant light.

Thus it can be seen that wearing or having near you a symbol of the lotus flower is a symbol of rebirth and faith in the beauty and perfection of creation. The symbol can be used during times when you wish to encourage new life and miraculous new growth in your life.

The Lotus Candle Holder Comes With a Small Leaflet That Reads:
The lotus flower is a symbol of transformation from darkness into the light, from innocence into insight and wisdom, towards peace and serenity.

More About the Symbolism of the Colour White
White is a colour most often associated with purity, cleanliness, innocence and peace.

In meditation and healing sessions it’s common for people to visualise a pure, white light surrounding them, with the white light washing away impurities and bringing a new sense of life, calmness and vitality. In healing, it’s also often used as a colour for protection, for cleansing emotional shock and bringing comfort and peace.

Wearing the colour white, or crystals which are white, such as opal, clear crystal quartz, white moonstone, opalite or white topaz, can reinforce your desire for purity, calmness and cleansing. Many people also choose to use white in interior decoration for similar reasons.

In the Western World, a bride’s gown is traditionally made of white material, said to represent chastity and virginity. This custom of wearing white is believed to have originated from Ancient Greece, where the temples were made of white marble and dedicated to the goddess Athena.

White is also the colour of the moon and of doves, and has a strong association with peace. At the other end of the spectrum it can mean surrender too, as a white flag is flown during conflict or war to show a person or side has surrendered.

In some cultures, white animals are considered sacred, like the white buffalo in Native American cultures. For Asian cultures, white is the sign of mourning – they wear white to funerals, instead of black.
