Back of CD says: A link has been forged between the alluring voice of Dolphins and Medwyn's sensitive music. From this joyous, tender and emotional union has evolved a unique recording that reflects back to the listener the great love and respect that is possible between our two species. A work of intense feeling and brilliant originality; the haunting melodies, the superb instrumentation and the moving, compelling song of Dolphins and Whales create a harmonious, emotive and inspiring recording.
'We need another and wiser and perhaps more mystical concept of animals' We patronise them for their incompleteness, for their tragic fate of having taken form so far below ourselves. And therein we err and err greatly. For the animal shall not be measured by man. In a world older and more complete than ours, they move finished and complete, gifted with extensions of the senses we have lost or never attained, living by voices we shall never hear. They are not brethren; they are not underlings; they are other nations, caught with ourselves in the net of life and time, fellow prisoners of the splendour and travail of the earth. Henry Beston
Medwyn Goodhall has gained an international reputation for producing best selling albums, including Earth Healer which was voted the leading New World album of 1992 and the highly acclaimed Druid Trilogy. Inspired by Nature, Medwyn continues to work from his studio in rural Cornwall. He plays over a dozen instruments and has evolved unique styles of instrumental music which are highly melodic, expressive and inspiring. His music often magically blends ethnic instruments as in the recently produced album Moon Goddess
We say: This is not just an album of recorded Dolphin noises - it is much more. The music evokes a connection with the sea and the mystique that is associated with Dolphins. The dolphin cries are sometimes to the fore and other times form part of the musical backdrop. The tempo is steady and slow and this is an album that can melt away the stresses of modern life, while reminding us of nature and higher forces.
Dictionary Terms Explained
- Musical artist
Medwyn Goodall is one of the leading lights and success stories in the New Age music scene.
He learnt to play music as a child and is believed to have been encouraged to pursue a music career after meeting pop star, Cliff Richard. Medwyn plays multiple instruments (guitar, piano, harp, flute, panpipes, synthesizer, drums and more) and has composed and recorded a wide repertoire of music, amassing nearly four million album sales worldwide so far.
Medwyn draws his inspiration from nature, ancient mysteries and cultures and composes haunting melodic instrumental music. His album Earth Healer was voted the leading instrumental album of 1992 and several albums reached Gold album status. In particular, Medicine Woman won Gold, Platinum and the Best Album Ever awards in 2002 for selling over 450,000 copies.
In 2003, Medwyn launched his own New Age record label, MG Music, and has realised his dream of helping many established and new artists to release albums.
As well as releasing many albums under his own name, Medwyn also uses the alias Midori to record music with more of an ethnic, eastern and healing slant.
Medwyn was born in Yorkshire and now lives in rural Cornwall with his wife, Wendy. He continues to compose and record his music from the comfort of his private studio.
- Joy, spiritual depth, play
The dolphin is a symbol of joy, of being able to 'go with the flow' of life, free from worry. It is significant that they are mammals that live in water because water and the oceans are symbolic of our deeper emotions and the cosmic ocean of life. Dolphins play, leap, twist and turn in these waters, and so as a symbol they represent the ability for us to release limitations, and then accept and enjoy our deeper spiritual nature. Dolphins do not dwell on the meaning of life, they simply live life to the full as a part of the cosmic dance. You should wear the symbol of dolphin as a way of showing your intention to become more at one with the breath of life (that is the spiritual nature of life) and to promote a connection with laughter, joyful release and the ability to give of yourself freely to others.

Reviews - rated 5/5 based on customer reviews5 out of 5 By Julie NormanI am a huge fan of the music of Medwyn Goodall, his music is hauntingly beautiful and emotionally evocative. There is a tenderness to the music which I find very moving. This is an entrancing collection of 8 tracks inspired by Dolphins and the Oceans. The music is deeply relaxing, perfect to chill out to, and to help you unwind from modern day stresses as it harks back to the purity and joy of the deep Ocean. Yet this cd is also incredibly inspiring, uplifting and refreshing. Listening to this cd leaves me feeling serene and joyful. The sublime harmony created by the sounds of the Dolphins and of the Oceans mixed with the graceful music is silvery and melodious. Listening to this cd feels like Ocean therapy. Truly a beautiful cd.
