    Evocative & Dreamy

Posted by Vernon Marshall on 15th Nov 2004

The music of this CD is evocative but not in the way I would have anticipated. It is a very dreamy piece of work. The music just drifts along, not seeking to find a destination but merely enjoying the ride. It is very easy to fall asleep during the listening of this CD, but I cannot somehow feel that this is necessarily a bad thing. It is meant to be a meditational tool rather than something geared towards relaxation per se, but it does for me evoke something of clarity. I cannot use it for visualisation journeys but for the evocation of sentiments and moods. I can visualise, but it tends to be colours and broad patterns and shapes. I have felt uplifted and focused by using the CD so I can affirm the appropriateness of the chosen title. This CD is very useful for meditation of a general nature, where there is to be space to follow wherever the spirit seeks to lead. I find it also appropriate for attunement as a companion to healing work. It is a worthwhile companion to the other CDs in the “Pure” series produced by New World Music and is certainly well used in my household.
