Juniper Berry Organic Pure Essential Oil (5ml) - Juniperus Communis
Juniper is a rejuvenating and detoxifying oil with refreshing fruity green fragrance, reminiscent of turpentine.
Its fresh fragrance supports all bodily systems and can help to restore the mind and body. Quite unusually it is both stimulating and relaxing which means it can help support the mind when you are surrounded with negative thoughts, but it also has a sedative effect that can help during times of restlessness or when having difficulty sleeping. Juniper oil can be strengthening to those feeling emotionally drained.
Physically it is known to be a strong antiseptic, good for alleviating water retention and can be stimulating and settling to the digestive system.
Within other uses, Juniper is highly recommended for meditation (both before and during), it can help unclutter the mind and fortify the memory. It also makes a refreshing bath oil, a natural alternative to household disinfectant and is an effective insect repellent.
Origin & History
The Juniper tree is a small evergreen found in North America, Northern Europe and from South West Asia to Siberia. It was used by the ancient Egpytians and Greeks to help combat epidemics and very early civilizations burnt Juniper as a way of warding off evil spirits. It has played a large part in aiding to combat diseases over the years; such as within French Hospitals during the First World War and similarly Tibetans used it against the plague.
You can try blending Juniper with any of the following oils: Benzoin, bergamot, cypress, frankincense, geranium, grapefruit, orange and lemongrass.
How to Store Your Oils: Essential oils can be quite delicate substances and factors such as strong light, heat, air and moisture can affect them. They are best kept in a cool, dark and dry place ideally in a box and in a cupboard. We wouldn't recommend transferring your essential oils into plastic bottles as the plastic can interact with the chemical makeup of your essential oils and may cause the plastic to deteriorate. Keeping them in their dark, amber bottle with the lid will prolong their life. Oils that are stored in the correct condition should last for years (citrus oils have a slightly shorter life).
Size: 5ml, presented in an amber glass bottle.
