Message Inside Reads:
Fly Me to the Moon,
"Fly me to the moon and let me play among the stars." What a wonderful thought! Transported by her winged companion, the moth maiden is drawn towards the ethereal light of the moon. Her flowing robes of rainbow-coloured wings fly out behind her as she is entranced by the awesome beauty of the lunar landscape. Though the moon is one tiny speak in the wonder of the universe, what a powerful influence one magical presence can be.
May the year to come take you to the places of your dreams! Happy Birthday.
Dictionary Terms Explained
Josephine Wall was born in Farnham, Surrey, England. Her work now is receiving worldwide acclaim inlcuding a nomination at the Arty Awards (the artworld equvalent of the oscars). She works mostly with acrylic paint and has been infuenced by the romanticism of the Pre-Raphaelites, surrealist artists like Salvador Dali and the illustrative work of Arthur Rackham.
From childhood she has had a passion for light and colour, fantasy and visual story telling. Much of the inspiration for her mystical images comes from her close observation of nature and her interest in its preservation. Though she often strives to impart a message in her scenes, she also hopes to inspire in her audience a personal journey into the magical world of their own imagination.
"The art of painting is more than a career to me," she says, "it is an all consuming obsession and a love of colour and form. In fact, if I am away from my easel for too long I become restless and anxious to paint again."

- Intuition, feminine, psychic
Throughout many traditions the sun represents the father and male principle and the moon the mother and feminine principle. The energy of the moon is intuitive, deep, subtle, feminine and psychic. To say this is a feminine energy does not mean to say this energy is just for women. Men and women have their female and male aspects. We all develop them both.
The moon is also associated with clairvoyance and knowing without thinking. To use the energy of the moon does not involve conscious thought. So to wear or have around you the symbol of the moon is to state your universal intention to use your intuition, to simply go with what you feel and to know that to do this is for your greater good.
The moon has different phases and throughout these phases it affects us in different ways. For example the full moon represents illumination, unconscious made conscious and all can be seen. The crescent moon symbolises new beginnings and the making of dreams into reality. Because of this cyclic nature the moon it is also connected to rebirth and how our true essence really is immortal.
