Staff Review by Mel Hurst

Our feet are a part of us that often get forgotten about when it comes to looking after ourselves. We think 'Well, they get washed in the shower, or in the bath, that'll do...', or that we should only ever treat our feet at a pampering spa day session. 'It's not like people see them everyday... why should it matter?'. When in actuality we use our feet more than anything else, in winter they're deprived of fresh air, moisture and then exposed to the elements in the summer. If we don't look after our feet, we can be more prone to foot problems such as itchy skin, cracked heels, fungal and bacterial infections, plus day to day aches and pains.

Like many others out there I've always thought taking an extra few minutes to look after my feet felt vain, or that it was just for special occasions! I can happily say that after using Buddha's Beauty's foot cream for a couple of weeks now my attitude has now changed. Foot cream is usually best used after a bath or shower when your skin is more likely to absorb the minerals and nutrients from the cream. I usually shower first thing in the morning, so this wasn't always possible to do as I didn't have enough time to apply the cream, or not enough time for it to absorb.

For me, my usual routine would be to quickly wash my feet in the evening, apply the cream (for normal skin, only a very small amount is needed and a little bit more for dry skin) then I would sit back, relax and let it work its magic. The perfect time is to apply is about 30 mins to an hour before bed, when you're no longer on your feet and you can allow enough time for the cream to absorb. A few minutes after application I started to notice a tingling sensation; and when they named this cream with the word 'cooling' they really mean it! Peppermint oil is known for aiding with muscle aches and pain, softening the skin, plus its antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties. Throughout the week I'm on my feet a lot, walking, running and cycling so after a few uses of this cream I could quickly feel the reduction in soreness and tiredness and I recovered much quicker for the next day. You do have to make sure you wash your hands after use, or you'll find the tingling sensation on your hands, and the cream generally should avoid the facial area.

No longer will you have to look down at your feet and wonder 'where the years have gone? How did I end up with such cracked heels and hard skin!?. Now you'll want to wear sandals everyday, buy anklets, toe rings and accessories to show off your feet (ok, maybe I'm getting ahead of myself). Nevertheless, this is now my easy-to-go way for some much needed relaxation, and hydration that our feet have long deserved!
