Back of CD says: Captivated by the telling of Carmen's epic tale of Tulan, John Richardson has surpassed himself with a recording that has all the vivid drama of Celtic legend. John's sensational drumming is complemented by the authentic violin of Joe O'Donell and the mystical sound of Uillean pipes played by Aiden O'Brien. The moods range from reflection to celebration, on a rousing album that in our minds is capable of bringing the misty lands of Celtic myth back to life.
John Richardson achieved international fame in the 1970's as a founder member of the Rubettes, and has since devoted himself to helping others find inner peace through his highly successful meditative and inspiring recordings. His powerful use of music is continually put to use in his own music and mantra healing clinic at his home in Essex, England.
We say: Because this is up-tempo and powerful music, and because drums are so universal in appeal, we believe this album to have a wide audience - whether you are into Celtic music or not. It is not drums throughout. Sometimes beautiful vocals and more reflective moods are used to create a varied repertoire, although the drum is never far away. Sometimes John Richardson uses stereo to stunningly move the drums from one speaker to the other and back again. An album to lift and energise.
