Review(s) for CD: Meditations for Manifesting
If you are a fan of the Stanley Kubrick film 2001, you may have a tricky time working with this CD at first, purely because at the start, Dr Dyer sounds so much like the computer in the film 'Hal 9000'. For the first couple of times listening, you may, as I did, expect him to sing 'Daisy, Daisy,' or tell you that he 'Can't let you do that'. Once you get past this though, if you are English, you will still find yourself very aware of the American accent, because there is a basic difference in pronunciation, which is difficult to overcome, unless you are prepared to disregard it.
Dr Dyer advocates manifesting, not through the mind but through the power of sound and suggests that all the different names which have been given to the Creator, whether primitive, western or eastern share one thing in common, the sound 'Ah', the sound of joy and the sound of creation. Buddha; Krishna; Tao; Ra; Allah and 'Gahd.' And there we have it - the pronunciation of the word 'God', which at first can easily disrupt the meditative state. However 'Ah' is the sound that is used to create something from nothing via the root Chakra and the third eye Chakra in this meditative system.
Both my husband and I have been working with this CD for around two weeks now and it's safe to say that it is well worth the effort needed. Once you've listened to it for the third or fourth time, you do begin to notice a change, not so much in how you see things, but how you 'feel' them. Dr Dyer is adamant that the mind and thinking have nothing to do with manifesting in the way he has been taught and if you can free yourself from your conscious mind and 'Go with the flow' of this CD, you may well find yourself on a voyage of discovery.
