CD: Tarot Workshop by Suzanne Corbie
Paradise Music (44) - Leading new age music label
Paradise music is a rapidly expanding "new age" music label founded by one of the leading and best known artists in this field, Llewellyn, and his wife Juliana, who is also a well respected and popular recording artist.

They have brought out CDs by well loved established artists as well as nurturing new talent and their range is growing all the time. They have also instigated new ideas such as the now popular "Workshop" series and also CD greeting cards (ie a greeting card with a CD inside the front cover).

By Brian Stevenson View ProfileSome people absorb information by reading and some by listening. This two CD set will obviously appeal to everyone who prefers to receive information by listening.
Suzanne Corbie is an experienced tarot reader who has studied the tarot for 30 years. She regularly teaches tarot and has made numereous radio and television appearances.
The first CD opens with a short basic introduction to the tarot and then includes information about all the Major Arcana cards. The final two tracks cover readings and questions, followed by some simple three-card spreads. The second CD starts with tracks covering the four suits of the Minor Arcana, followed by exercises to develop intuition. The CD concludes with step-by-step instructions for a celtic cross spread and a guided meditation through the Major Arcana.
Inspirational music from the CD 'Journey to Atlantis' by Kevin Kendle and Llewellyn is featured on the CDs.
The set includes an illustrated 12-page booklet giving keywords etc. for the cards, together with a layout for the celtic cross.
Suzanne has a warm friendly voice and communicates her obvious knowledge of the tarot in a calm and peaceful manner. I particularly liked the way that she encourages the listener to develop their own intuitive style for reading the cards.
Although aimed at beginners, I believe that readers of all levels would gain something by listening to these two CDs.

By Anne Marie Welch View ProfileThis CD is wonderful.Suzanne Corbie has a very likeable voice and she sounds very experienced. I acquired a set of tarot cards and wanted to learn how to use them and this CD is just perfect. Suzanne goes through each cards of the Major Arcana first and then the Minor ones. She asks us to look at a particular card such as "the Empress" and see what comes up in our head from just looking at the items inside the card. She then tells us what she thinks it represents and then go onto another card. She goes through them methodically and thoroughly and I think it is much easier to listen and learn about the cards rather than read about them, it is not so confusing and it sticks to the mind better. Suzanne asks also to try spreading some cards for a friend or for ourselves and to just have a go. As she says: "the more we practice the better we get at it" so it is my intention to spend time on this and try it with my family and see the results. I really recommend it if you are a beginner or near beginner.

By Janet White, Bucks I have read many books, and have several different decks of Tarot cards, but when I saw this CD as a new item, I was instantly drawn to it after listening to the excerpt. It arrived the next day, and although I have only listened to the first three chapters (you have to take this slowly, or you won't take in the information you are being given), I have been very impressed by how it is making the cards and their meanings much more obvious, and to stick in my mind. I would highly recommend this CD to anyone looking to learn the tarot - thank you for finding it!
