No Paraffin
These soy wax melts do not contain any paraffin or petroleum products. Many candles today are paraffin based. Petroleum products in candles can cause a smokiness that can build up over time on ceilings. Paraffin is one of the last by products of petroleum extraction. Some of the soot given off by paraffin candles is the same as burning diesel fuel. So there are documented concerns about the health affects this may have.

About Soy Wax
Soy is a vegetable wax and is suitable for vegetarians. It is non-toxic and burns a lot cleaner, slower and cooler than paraffin wax; this creates a longer burning wax. Soy originally comes from a soybean, which are vegetables - meaning soy wax can be naturally biodegraded and come from a renewable source. It also tends to be easier to remove soy wax spillages from materials and other surfaces compared to paraffin wax.

Number of Melts
There are 6 melts in each pack, these come in a black bag with a tin strip closure. This can be re-sealed to keep your unused melts safe & fresh.

Please Note: Colour of melts & petals included may vary from the picture depending on the batch that we receive at the time.

Roughly at the longest part these are 48mm in diameter and 18mm in height. Some may vary slightly by a few millimeters as they are produced by hand.

Using Your Melts
These a highly-scented wickless candles which can be used in a tea light oil-burner or an electric warmer. Just pop one into the top bowl of your oil burner; add as much or as little as you like depending on the size of your burner and how intense you would like the scent to be, do not add water. Light a tea-light underneath, or switch on your electric burner and enjoy the beautiful fragrances of myth and magick.

Soy is a natural organic wax that is water soluble, so don't worry about any mess or spills, these can be easily cleaned! Once you've finished with your melt, if the fragrance starts to fade or you'd simple like a change, wait for the wax to cool then place your burner in the fridge for a few minutes and any residue should slide out so your burner is ready to use again.

Dictionary Terms Explained

Unicorn - Purity, divine connection
One of the earliest references to a unicorn is about 5000 years ago in ancient China when it was written that a unicorn appeared to the emperor Huang Di as a sign that his reign would be long and peaceful. Also in China it is recorded that a unicorn brought a piece of jade to the mother of the renowned prophet Confucius and laid its head on her lap. She took that as a good omen for what was to come.

Around about the fourth and fifth centuries, merchants would come back from India with stories of a horse with a white body, a red head, bluish eyes and with a horn on its forehead about a cubit long. Sightings of unicorns have also been attributed to Julius Caesar and to Alexander the Great, and there are several clear references to them in the Old Testament of the Bible.

The unicorn represents purity and a Christ-like connection to God and the divine. Although a gentle creature, its horn could be used to protect if needed. So as a symbol it represents your desire to be closer to God, to work towards greater clarity in yourself, and to be protected while doing this.
