The Unbelievable Truth by Gordon Smith
Gordon Smith (4) -
Gordon Smith is an internationally renowned medium. He has featured in several BBC documentaries and makes regular appearances on TV, including ITV's This Morning. He is a weekly columnist for Fate & Fortune magazine, Best magazine and the Daily Record

By Vernon Marshall View ProfileGordon Smith's books are always a treat to read. This one is no exception. The writer comes to the book with a great deal of experience in mediumship, but he brings with him a good humour and a lightness of touch which makes for an easy but enlightening read. The book is made up of ten chapters on various subjects connected with mediumship such as ghosts and haunting, poltergeists, reincarnation and so on. The writer does not go deep into the subject in a theoretical way but simply relates a number of episodes. As usual with Gordon Smith, these are all very colourful and very illuminating. What I liked about the book in particular was the way he sought to answer those questions many people must constantly ask about what the afterlife is like, why spirits wish to talk with us and why some spirits cause anguish and disturbance. I loved his straight talking about the falsehoods preached about hell by the mainstream churches and his disdain for the idea of purgatory.
It is easy to like this book in the same way that it is easy to like Gordon Smith. Here is a simple man who talks about spiritual matters as he finds them, with honesty, clarity and a lack of ego. This book of over 200 pages is well worth the money, if you are convinced by spiritualism and you have a fascination for knowing more deeply what mediumship is all about. It is a book I very much enjoyed and I will read it again.
