2. Secrets of the pyramids

"Producing this album has stirred my imagination into asking more questions about the Pyramids. Do we completely know what their full purpose was or still is? Our thoughts and feelings is what makes Egypt immortal and there is a place of sanctuary for all of us." Andreas

By Vernon Marshall View Profile
The name of Andreas is a new one to me. I have listened to many CDs of this genre and have enjoyed them all. Could the music of Andreas provide something a bit different? Well, yes, I think there is a distinctly different style here. The riffs and melodies are clearly defined but gentle. There is a sense of structure and development. There is also a feeling of exoticism that connects the listener to the land that has inspired the music - in this case Egypt. I did in my own mind conjure up images of desert scenes and Bedouin camps. Something I did like was the length of each piece. In just under an hour of playing time there are only four different tracks. This enables the listener to get fully into the piece. The flute work is very evocative and the chanting voices bring the atmosphere of North Africa into the home. It does sound genuinely Arabic yet its flow is easy on the ear.
This CD is not exactly a meditation aid as its structure takes you along too clearly. It is certainly a relaxation aid and also simply a lovely piece of evocative music. It is well composed, brilliantly arranged and very well delivered. It will not be gathering dust on my CD rack!
