These exercises are both physical (e.g. clearing clutter from your home or work space) and emotional, e.g. requiring written journaling.
I have studied a number of life coaching resources, and I really like this book. Denise encourages you to consider the four elements of air, water, fire and earth and to allow the energies of these natural forces, which affect our daily lives, to assist in your understanding of self and desires, and clearing of life blocks, thereby being better able to connect with your soul, your soul's purpose and realisation of your dreams. I walk dogs daily and thought I was already aware of nature around me, but this book brought many new dimensions to my awareness as I focused on the daily thoughts suggested about the element to be worked on in that chapter/for those 7 days.
Each exercise can be done at one of three levels, each taking more of your time, so you can tailor your effort according to your current circumstances. The book could easily be re-read and the exercises performed at a different level, for example, re-doing but at level 3 if you did the exercises the first time at level one or two. I found I did the exercises in different ways depending on what was being asked of me. For some days, I achieved level one and tried nothing further; at other times I worked through levels 1, 2 and 3, doing all the exercises.
