Some CDs are perfect for relaxation or reflection. Some are ideal for meditation. Some are best as background for healing sessions. Some are perfect for all uses. This CD also has several uses but, for me, it is most suitable for healing sessions. This is not only because of its title but the nature of the work lends itself to stimulating those parts of the person that respond to the gentle drift of a musical style that is not too formally structured. I can listen to this CD purely to wind down and relax but I find I cannot focus on it. My mind is taken elsewhere and this is perhaps its aim. It is not easy to be preoccupied with the stresses and strains of daily life when something close by is telling your mind that all is well. Kamal is Australian and there is something in this CD that conjures up something aboriginal. The choice of instruments works very well, being evocative and at the same time being sufficiently in the background so as not to be too dominant. This CD does not hit you with power, it is much gentler than that. I also find the singing very effective, its beauty being very penetrative. Kamal is a new performer for me and I will certainly enjoy experiencing more of his work.
