How Are The Mountain T-Shirts Made?
When you first receive your Mountain T-Shirt we recommend washing in cold water alone or with like colours. Since your shirt was hand-dyed it will continue to bleed some excess colour for the first few washes. It is safe to use normal detergent, just make sure to avoid bleach. Your Mountain T-Shirt should be dried either in a tumble dryer on low or flat, not hung as the weight of the water will cause the cotton to stretch.
It is recommended to wash inside out and on its own for the first few washes to prevent the colour bleeding into your other items. We would also recommend ironing only the inside of the T-Shirt. The dying process means the designs do not stretch or crack. All The Mountain products are pre-shrunk before printing, so long as proper washing and care instructions are followed, your Tee should not shrink.
Dictionary Terms Explained
- Eco-Friendly ArtWear Apparel
The Mountain are an eco-friendly apparel manufacturer that use environmentally friendly materials and manufacturing processes wherever possible to make their garments. Starting with white garments made from 100% natural USA cotton, these are then coloured with fiber reactive organic dyes and are printed with environmentally friendly water-based inks.
The founders of the Mountain are deeply involved with Green Causes and take conversation seriously within their business. One being a longtime advocate of local to worldwide conversation has dedicated himself to preserving land so that ecosystems may remain for future generations. Another has his own personal land certified an organic, meaning that local farmers may then use this land to grow organic food.
- Purity, divine connection
One of the earliest references to a unicorn is about 5000 years ago in ancient China when it was written that a unicorn appeared to the emperor Huang Di as a sign that his reign would be long and peaceful. Also in China it is recorded that a unicorn brought a piece of jade to the mother of the renowned prophet Confucius and laid its head on her lap. She took that as a good omen for what was to come.
Around about the fourth and fifth centuries, merchants would come back from India with stories of a horse with a white body, a red head, bluish eyes and with a horn on its forehead about a cubit long. Sightings of unicorns have also been attributed to Julius Caesar and to Alexander the Great, and there are several clear references to them in the Old Testament of the Bible.
The unicorn represents purity and a Christ-like connection to God and the divine. Although a gentle creature, its horn could be used to protect if needed. So as a symbol it represents your desire to be closer to God, to work towards greater clarity in yourself, and to be protected while doing this.
- Catches the good dreams, lets the bad dreams perish
Dream catchers are intended to aid and protect those sleeping below by filtering their dreams. Symbolically the dream catcher allows good dreams to pass through the web and drift down to the sleeper, while bad dreams are said to become hopelessly entangled in the web, where they perish at the first light of dawn. By hanging a dream catcher above your bed, you signal to a deeper part of yourself that you want to remember those dreams that are of use to you. The dream world is a doorway to the subconscious - the inner workings of your life that you are not always aware of. By listening to your dreams you can learn more about yourself. The feathers symbolise air or the breath of life.
When you hang a dream catcher above your bed or around your home or wear a dream catcher as a piece of jewellery you are signalling to a deeper part of yourself that you wish to be more aware of your dreams and aspirations. You wish to 'catch' your dreams and bring them to ground so that they may become a reality. As is also the symbolism of the dream catcher you wish for it to entrap those dreams that are negative and entrap them so they do not manifest. So wear a dream catcher when you wish to bring your good dreams to life and for the bad ones to perish.
