They say: The runes are a powerful spiritual tool. They are believed to be the creation of the Norse god Odin. These most ancient of the Germanic peoples' magical written symbols offer us a deep insight into the hidden structures of the cosmos and the secrets of the human psyche. Voenix (Vormel), the designer of these rune cards, has made it possible for us, with the help of his oracle pack, to gain direct access to our own intuition, our subconscious, and thus to an understanding of our own actions.

We say: Most people who have not been reading the runes long do often need to rely on books for their definitions, but with the addition of these colourful and interesting cards we feel that a more intuitive approach to rune reading could be taken earlier on by an apprentice.

Example: The card 'ansuz' (the fourth card), depicted top left, showing Odin playing his harp, is a card that is about taking your time and not acting in haste. This is symbolised by the playing of harp, in a sense reflecting on the moment. 'Ansuz' has links with death which is demonstrated by the dark clouds in the sky. The new birth that inevitably follows death is symbolised by the sun breaking out from behind the clouds.

I really recommend this deck of rune cards. For one they (for me) do represent in the pictures, a more viking way of life than some of the stylised decks. I tend to use the booklet in conjunction with other books. But the pictures still convey the deeper meaning. A great deck, which I love, and recommend to those interested in rune cards.

I have just bought the Power of Runes and my first impression was awe. The graphics are gorgeous and inspiring. I have found that my interpretation of the cards is consistent with the booklet, so don't find it necessary to keep referring to it. Of course, the interpretations seem to change with the sitter, something else just seems to shout at you. Excellent.

The rune cards are great quality, and the pictures are awesome but the booklet I found was a bit hard to understand for me - the meanings were too ambiguous.
