CD: Native American Meditations by Various Artists
"This is not a guided meditation CD, it is more a CD for meditating on life.
This is the real thing - Native American wisdom and traditional songs brought to us. You know you are listening to something special as you feel the sacred intent behind this production with a desire to share. Sayings and wise words recorded such as:
'I see the earth, I see the earth and smile, she makes me happy.
The earth sees me, the earth sees me and smiles.
May I walk, walk happily, walk happily and lightly upon her.'
The words spoken all carry much wisdom. They give hope and inspiration for a true community on earth. Mostly it is spoken word with drums, wooden flute or instrumental backing. The Native American people who speak this obviously carry forward the belief in these words. These words are obviously words they hold dear to them." - Brett

By Peter Thomas I found this a really inspirational CD. Being someone who reads a lot and has read a huge amount of spiritual books, I was amazed to find that listening to the spoken words of wisdom, rather than reading them, made them stay in my mind as if they had been spoken to me personally, whereas words read soon slip from one's mind. Of particular relevance to me (although not necessarily for others of course) was the value of silence to the Lakota. In a world where "personality-plus sell yourself" babble seems to predominate, (even with the best will in the world the pressure is always on to say something, anything..) learning to be silent is of exceptional importance to one's spiritual development.

By Janet, Sunderland An very enjoyable CD.... recommended
