Reiki is a gentle energetic, spiritual healing therapy. “Rei” means “unseen” or “spiritual” and “Ki” means “energy” or “life force”. This is often translated as “Universal Life Energy”. The system was developed by Mikao Usui in Japan in the early 20th century after three weeks of fasting and meditating on Mount Kurama. Energy flows through the hands to the “patient” or recipient in such a way that the givers energy is not depleted. The therapist keys into the universal energy, not necessarily their own individual energy. This universal energy is seen as intelligent and will heal the patient’s energy field without exact diagnosis. Treatment can be used on people, on yourself, pets and distance healing. The system often uses “attunement” where people are attuned so that they may also give this type of healing. Often symbols are used to help key into certain aspects of this healing art.

As a healer myself I have experienced the frustration of buying CDs that I had hoped to use to inspire and relax but discovered that the music was too lively or too active. Potential buyers of this CD should be reassured. The gentle and dreamlike quality of these tracks are most appropriate as background material for healing or meditation sessions. The minimalism of the music should not suggest simplicity. There is a beauty and ethereal feel within the soft tones and a suggestion of wonderment at the world of Nature. If one wishes to envisage a place of natural beauty, then this CD will help to take you there. The mood is just right to allow the natural healing qualities within the self to work their best. It has become an essential piece of the healing equipment in my practice and it will, I guarantee, be used by Reiki and other healers who wish to find ways of creating the right therapeutic ambience.
By Pam, Yorkshire As a Reiki healer I am always looking for new Cd's to play when working. I have many CD's by Llewellyn, but somehow missed this one. I am pleased to say it did not disappoint. It's worth buying for any relaxing therapy.
