Some books are beautiful in their own right, above and beyond the images and the words that they contain. This is an amazing book, and works at a startling number of levels. Japanese writer and thinker Masaru Emoto has a passion for water, and its mysteries as well as its science. In this book he explores water in its frozen form, and the ice crystal photography is truly stunning. Even more startling, however, are the ways in which these images were achieved. Emoto exposed various ice crystals to certain names, sounds, images and concepts, all of them with a religious or spiritual connotation, - and then he observed changes in the crystals, which he photographed and recorded. This book (which is part of an amazing series) is the result of some of those experiments.

The book is much more than science, as a result. It is certainly more than the beautiful photography that graces its pages. It is an aid to meditation and the exploration of own inner spirituality. It would be very hard to fully categorise a book as unique as this one. I can only advise you to accept and allow the ethos that inspired this book to infiltrate your own meditations and thinking. Certainly, combined with the right background music, it is mind-blowing. But even without that additional factor, it is a book to inspire and to take the mind to new and unexplored levels of consciousness.
