Tarot Cards (61) -
The Tarot is a specific system that has 78 cards in total. There are 4 suits (referred to as the minor arcana) and 22 other cards (referred to as the major arcana). Each card represents a specific energy. And each card, through the picture on the card, is trying to help you to feel the specific energy of that card. The reason there are so many different kinds of Tarot decks is that Different Tarot decks may present this energy in different pictorial form. We have lots of articles on Tarot.

I have often wondered how soon the time would come when there were no more new tarot decks produced, owing to the fact that everything has been done. Well, we are a long way to go, it seems. I am constantly amazed by the inclusion of new ideas and vision. This tarot deck is very impressive. Firstly, I find the size just about right, 12 x 6.5 cm. Sometimes I cannot get my hands round some of the larger decks. This deck is just about right. Secondly, the artwork is brilliant. The ideas behind the pictures are inspired by other decks, and why not? this deck is nonetheless distinctive. What I like is the introduction in the “little white book” that traces the development of the deck and what Mark McElroy had in mind and how the artist Anna Lazzarini interpreted his vision.
The artwork is really good. I love how the artist has come up with interesting concepts for each of the cards of the Minor Arcana. I am not keen on a picture of just 5 cups or whatever, for example. The artist here, though, mostly uses pictures of people in different ways to illustrate these minor cards and she does it very effectively. The pictures are colourful and striking, with a sharpness and clarity that is a surprise considering the size of the deck. The instruction book, which is written in five different languages, is also unusual in providing a “Divinatory Dictionary” listing two keywords for each card, one influenced by Light and the other by Shadow. For example, the Ace of Cups is about “Refreshment” and “Inundation.” People are very funny when choosing their tarot decks. Old favourites and styles often win out of innovation. It is a pity if an open mind is not applied.......more
