Lemon Organic Pure Essential Oil (10ml) - Citrus Limonum

Lemon is a fresh, tangy and sharp oil that is essential to any natural first aid kit. Its citrussy scent embodies the fragrance of a newly grated lemon peel.

Citrus scents are known to be both invigorating and beneficial to the body. This clean scent can aid in clear thinking, help to stimulate the brain, increase concentration and memory whilst dispelling sluggishness.

Known to be a strong antibacterial and antiseptic; lemon is useful for helping to treat bronchitis and the flu, eliminating toxins, stopping minor bleeding or swelling, stimulating and improving digestion and is a good tonic for improving digestion.

Within other uses, because of its antibacterial properties it is lovely to use as a diffuser within hospitals, helps to purify water, and can be used as an insect repellent or applied to bites and stings. Lemon oil can also be a great addition to toiletries and can add a refreshing touch to shower products, perfumes or colognes. It can help to brighten pale or dull complexions and highlight fair hair and lighten freckles.

Origin & History
The evergreen Lemon tree is Native to Asia and is now widely cultivated in many countries. There are mixed opinions as to where the lemon was introduced to Europe from; some say it was Roman soldiers returning from Asia, whilst others say it was brought back by Middle Ages crusaders who were transporting rich treasures. Italy is now known as being one of the main lemon-producing regions, and in particular Siciliy has the reputation for producing the best lemon oil. It has long been valued as a natural medicine and antiseptic within the home and known as something of a 'cure-all'. To this day it is used within tea, perfumery, cosmetics, pharmacies, food, drink and soap.

Blending Suggestions
Lemon blends very well with other citrus scents, it adds a fresh green note to aromas. You could try adding it to lavender, pine, cedar, juniper, eucalyptus, fennel, benzoin, cardamon and chamomile. Or try it with frankincense, ginger, linden blossom, neroli, rose, sandalwood and ylang ylang.

How to Store Your Oils: Essential oils can be quite delicate substances and factors such as strong light, heat, air and moisture can affect them. They are best kept in a cool, dark and dry place ideally in a box and in a cupboard. We wouldn't recommend transferring your essential oils into plastic bottles as the plastic can interact with the chemical makeup of your essential oils and may cause the plastic to deteriorate. Keeping them in their dark, amber bottle with the lid will prolong their life. Oils that are stored in the correct condition should last for years (citrus oils have a slightly shorter life).

Size: 10ml, presented in an amber glass bottle.
