    Angel Cards do not conform to any one particular system so therefore the number of cards in a deck can vary. Most have pictures and some, like the Angels of Light cards do not. Angel cards give angelic wisdom and help give more clarity and input into our lives. The "Original Angel Cards" are the cards that are thought to have given popularity to angel cards back in 1978 with the start of the Transformation Game at the Findhorn Community in Scotland. Since that time there have been many angel card decks produced. Some of the most popular are by Doreen Virtue, Diana Cooper and also the Original Angel Cards.

    I have to admit that I am a sucker for oracle cards. My collection of them is quite extensive. I find them very useful, not so much for divination, but as aids to meditation or reflection. Most of my cards I use rarely for divination because the methods recommended are quite complex. The Archangel Oracle Cards, however, are an exception. The standard reading recommended is a three card reading. The first card shows the origination of the current situation. The second describes the truth of the current situation. The third shows the resolution or outcome. The guidebook also suggests other kinds of reading, but mostly with only one card.

    The cards themselves are of stiff, shiny material with an attractive design on the back, depicting a golden angel on a mountain peak. The front of the cards bear beautiful pictures of angels, some of which are exceptionally attractive. Below the picture on each card is a heading, such as "Hello from Heaven", "Moon Cycles", or "Angel Therapy". There is then a statement from a particular Archangel. Archangel Raphael, for example, says, "Give your cares and worries to us angels, and allow us to take your burdens".

    The deck is attractive, inspiring and very easy to use. What is a great bonus with this deck is the accompanying DVD. This is an hour-long presentation from Doreen Virtue herself explaining the use of the cards and giving various readings to a number of sitters.

    The test of any deck is in its usage. Within minutes of receiving this deck I was using it effectively. Just to take out one card and reflect on it is a great experience. To all oracle lovers, and indeed to all those who appreciate the work of angels, this deck is ideal.

    I am a great fan of Doreen Virtue and have healing with angels, messages from the angels, messages from the fairies and magical unicorn packs. My favourite by far is the Archangel pack. These are beautiful cards, easy to use and probably the best to start out with. Out of all of them, these are the ones I'm drawn to time and time again.
