CD: Healing Pool by Juliana
"She may or may not appreciate the reference, but you cannot help drawing comparisons with the choral artists Clannad, Pia and Enya. Gentle, choral, mystifying, atmospheric, dreamy, wistful are all words I would associate with this album. There are no obvious lyrics as such, Juliana is using her voice as an instrument. A very restful album. The sort of album you could put on in the afternoon when you're dozing on the settee, and be soothed by sound." - Brett

By Vernon Marshall View ProfileI have long been a fan of Llewellyn’s ambient music and would purchase any of his material. For help in relaxing, meditating, reflecting, or just sucking up positive vibes, his music does it for me. This CD bears a bonus, however, and that is the voice of Juliana. Her singing is purely angelic. She does not sing songs so much as adding her vocal sounds in the way that an instrument is used. Combined with Llewellyn’s smooth mixtures of piano and electric backgrounds, Juliana provides otherworldly, ethereal riffs that lulls the body and the mind into a sense of peace and calm. I love “The Dreamweavers”, a piece that makes best use of Juliana’s outstanding vocalisation. It always conjures up within me images of clouds, beautiful landscapes and warm smiles. She needs to be heard to be appreciated. This CD has become a favourite of mine. A word of caution, though. Do not listen to this in the car! You need a comfortable chair or sofa, or even a bed. If you do not end up by falling asleep you will nevertheless finish the session feeling very relaxed. I guarantee it.

By Wendy, East Sussex Wow is all I can say. This arrived last week and have only just had chance to listen to it as the Holistic staff say I felt it was very much like Enya. So relaxing and great for playing when doing meditation. Thank you doesn't seem enough really.
