They say: Holistic Healing massage is, as it implies, a complete whole body massage designed to comfort and relax, revitalise and heal, ease tension and stress, also invigorate and energise. Massage works on the muscularskeletal system that is made up of muscles, tendons, and bony joints.

This album is produced by Llewellyn and Robin Butterfield to complement the application of a Holistic Healing Massage.

The Healing Massage CD is said to ‘create a mood where the therapist will give of their best’ and I found this to be true. The hour long piano based music is a pleasant, even tempo which is good to work to. I found myself automatically working with the rhythm of the music, feeling focused on the massage and ‘going with the flow’. It is a nice pace for massage and an even pitch – with no gaps, nor quieter or louder patches which can disturb the flow of a treatment. The music filters nicely into the background and I found it also works just as well for reflexology treatments. One client, who is familiar with Llewellyn’s music found the CD to be ‘samey’ and ‘not the best he’s heard by Llewellyn’. Other clients found it to be pleasant. The accompanying booklet contains a snapshot of useful anatomy & physiology information, with a diagram of the muscles of the back and neck and brief information about the principle systems of the body. There is also information about some massage techniques, the senses, how to use the music and a write-up of tracks and massage organisations in the UK. I’m not sure how useful all of the information is, some of it came across slightly as booklet padding. Overall I found this to be a pleasant CD which lends variety to the music I use for therapy sessions and I imagine it would be an enjoyable addition to a Holistic Therapist’s CD collection.
