The Complete Guide to The Kabbalah by Will Parfitt

By Louise Green View ProfileThe author, Will Parfitt, has taken this amazing, deep and meaningful discipline and through this excellent book has made it understandable, approachable and enjoyable. It isn't a large book but it contains such a wealth of knowledge and information that the reader may find it takes longer to finish than they anticipate. The chapters have been kept small and have sections within. I found this useful as I could stop whenever I needed to, without feeling obliged to read on to the chapter's end. The exercises are designed to make the reader think, meditate or contemplate, some exercises are simple and quick, others you may need to set aside time. (I have tried a few exercises and was pleasantly surprised by the results) The author describes each of the Spheres in detail; he explores the relationships between the Tree and ourselves. He covers the effects Kabbalah can have on our physical, spiritual, emotional and mental well being, also he looks at Kabbalah and Chakras, Tarot, Magic(k) and Mysticism. There is a section on how to use the Kabbalah in every day life, from politics to gardening! The Kabbalah can be followed by anyone regardless of their spiritual path, although the author does refer to gods and goddesses on occasion. This book is a wonderful introduction to this Ancient Way; it's had a powerful but beneficial effect on me. It deserves to be read more than once and would act as a good reference book after the reader had grown in their knowledge. I know I'll return to it many times.
