Green Lotus Flower Tea Light Holder (Heart Chakra)

£9.60

The Lotus Flower is commonly recognized as a symbol of achieving enlightenment, peacefulness and spirituality. This candle holder can be fitted with tea-light candles or slightly larger candles - the diameter of the middle, the actual 'holder' is roughly 5.5cm, so it will fit any candle with the same diameter.

It is a lovely deep green colour with a gold edging along each of the lotus petals. When a candle is lit in the middle, because of the layers of petals this then emits a soft glow and the candle is sheltered enough to be used both indoors and outdoors.

The light is softer compared to electric lighting which can help to clear your mind and would compliment meditation, yoga or chakra re-alignment (although it still looks lovely even without a candle lit inside). It is also fairly light to hold, so it could be placed on the mantelpiece or wherever suits you.

These candle holders are hand made in the Philippines. The petals are made from natural Capiz shell, a type of Oyster (also known as the 'Windowpane Oyster) that can be found abundantly in the coastal waters of the Philippines and near India. To clean the holder, you can just wipe it with a damp cloth.

Please note the colour of the tea-light holder may vary very slightly from the colour on your screen due to monitor colour restrictions. Each piece is unique and the colour will vary slightly with each piece.

Size of Tea-Light Holder: Diameter is approximately 13.5cm (5.5") and weighs approximately 50 grams, (100 grams including packaging).

More About the Symbol of the Lotus Flower
The lotus flower is held sacred in many traditions as a symbol of rebirth, growing up from the mud towards the light where it opens up and blossoms. Each morning the flower opens. At night it sinks underwater again.

The lotus flower is central to one of the Egyptian creation stories where the lotus flower gave birth to the sun. A lotus flower emerged from the great darkness. From within the lotus flower came the divine child Re, the sun. The petals opened and Re cast his brilliant light.

Thus it can be seen that wearing or having near you a symbol of the lotus flower is a symbol of rebirth and faith in the beauty and perfection of creation. The symbol can be used during times when you wish to encourage new life and miraculous new growth in your life.

The Lotus Candle Holder Comes With a Small Leaflet That Reads:

A ritual of light, colour, harmony, unity and atmosphere.

The lotus flower is a symbol of transformation from darkness into the light, from innocence into insight and wisdom, towards peace and serenity. The symbolism derives from the fact that the lotus grows its roots in the dark dirt below, while this wonderful flower is always turned towards the light.
The Lotus Candlelight's are symbols of these qualities, and also of the 7 main energy centers of the human body (chakras). The warm light of a Lotus Candlelight invites pleasant feelings and offers healing effects.

The effects of colours:
Chakra 7 - Violet: Sedating effect in mind and body. Enhances purpose and dignity.
Chakra 6 - Indigo: Calming and soothing. Aids trusting our intuition. Colour of higher knowledge and wisdom.
Chakra 5 - Blue: Soothing, relaxing and healing. Also the colour of communication.
Chakra 4 - Green: Balancing and harmonizing. Activates feeling of love, tolerance and understanding.
Chakra 3 - Yellow: Stimulates mental activity and feelings of self confidence. Aids study, because it keeps you alert.
Chakra 2 - Orange: Warming and energizing. Orange is also the colour of pleasure and coziness.
Chakra 1 - Red: Provides extra energy, stimulates our emotions. Activates digestion. Restores contact with the Earth, our living space.
The colour of white will be active in all chakras, and represents clarity and purity.

Light a candle with attention and love, and let its light be healing, for yourself, for someone in particular, and in general for all living beings.

Let your rainbow body shine!

More About the Symbolism of the Colour Green
Colours can affect our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual states, both consciously and unconsciously. We can use colours to help us feel better, to inject an element of vitality into our life, or to calm strong feelings and promote a sense of peace and relaxation.

The colour green is typically associated with a range of emotions and states of being including: freshness, renewal, earth, strength, magic, fertility and hope. Different people perceive colours in different ways, so you may have other associations, which are equally valid.

Green mostly has positive associations. As a form of spiritual symbolism, it played an important part in Islam, as the sacred colour of the prophet and of divine providence. In China green jade symbolises perfection, strength, longevity and magical powers, and green dragons are a symbol of the yin energy and water.

Green was also the so-called colour of the Holy Grail and Ireland is traditionally known as the Emerald Isle. For Pagans green is linked with the natural elements of earth and water, the freshness of new life, of renewal and hope, and it's become strongly associated with ecology. In the chakra system, green is associated with the heart chakra.

More About Chakras
The chakras are major energetic centres within the human body. There are seven in total. They are:

Crown (violet-white)
Forehead (indigo)
Throat (Blue)
Heart (Green)
Solar plexus (Yellow)
Sacral (Orange)
Base (Red)

When our chakras are healthy and glowing strongly we feel good. By having about us or using chakra products, wearing chakra jewellery or using chakra stones in healing we are giving focus to this state of balance. If we have good intention we may draw situations to us that help us to change and help our chakras to find or remain in balance.
