CD: Great Spirit Told Me by Michael Looking Coyote
Paradise Music (45) - Leading new age music label
Paradise music is a rapidly expanding "new age" music label founded by one of the leading and best known artists in this field, Llewellyn, and his wife Juliana, who is also a well respected and popular recording artist.

They have brought out CDs by well loved established artists as well as nurturing new talent and their range is growing all the time. They have also instigated new ideas such as the now popular "Workshop" series and also CD greeting cards (ie a greeting card with a CD inside the front cover).

By Vernon Marshall View ProfileFor many people, Native American Spirituality has been a popular source for reading, for practice and for inspiration. Numerous rites are practised and we have access to a large amount of religious teachings of these tribes. I must admit, however, that I had not focused on any serious form of quiet meditation and I suspect that is true of many lovers of all things Native American. One could say that meditation is the same whatever the tradition. That may be the case in its purest form. With this CD, however, we gain some of the words of wisdom that has inspired the tribes. The CD itself has a spoken commentary by Michael Looking Coyote about how to gain peace within oneself. The background music has a strong Native American theme and is evocative of the desert or wilderness. I can almost smell the smoke of the camp fire and see the red faces of the tribepeople at peace by the fireside. The booklet within the CD is an extra help with a description of how Native Americans usually meditate, with an understanding of how they are affected by the direction they face and how they place their hands.
This CD is different from most CDs about meditation. I learned a great deal from it and I enjoyed hearing it. Adding to one’s appreciation of another beautiful spiritual culture is a great experience and I can recommend this CD to anybody who wants their life journey to be a thing of joy and true discovery.

By Jacqui - London A journey rather than a meditation. I found this really interesting, and would recommend if you are interested in Native American culture and spirituality.
