This is a heavy and sturdily built incense holder which is specifically designed to hold Japanese incense. It is possible to use it with Indian incense which has the wooden stick running through the centre, but please note that it is a much looser fit than the Japanese incense.

Goldfish (Feng Shui Fish) (1) - Prosperity, luck, positive outcomes
Goldfish in Feng Shui are seen to be creators of good luck and positive outcomes in new endeavours and in particular matters of business. In Chinese the word “yu” can mean fish but also means success. So keeping fish or having an ornament or product with a fish or goldfish on it in the Feng Shui tradition is a means of attracting prosperity. As a goldfish is also beautiful it is also seen to bless us and our environment with beauty through its colours. The fish brings the natural world (through being an animal and living in water) into our home or work environment. Dragons in Feng Shui and Chinese culture represent luck, wisdom and power and goldfish are often seen to represent baby dragons. So in that way they also bring luck.

I love this small black holder, as it just seems so very "Japanese" to me! It is so solid and yet so small and so very well made. It seems to combine both the ancient and modern at the same time. I love it's purity and simplicity and black seems to work here extraordinarily well. I think it is totally unique and I love the Goldfish cast in the water. It also seems very precise/man-made and yet very "natural" at the same time like a Bonsai Tree's "Ornamental Beauty". I'd recommend it to anyone who uses the thicker square Japanese/Tibetan sticks and the sticks fit exactly in the holder.
I have not tried using the Indian incense sticks in it as it was made primarily for the Japanese sticks and I already have separate holders for the Indian sticks.(much smaller hole).
