Pietersite is a member of the chalcedony family of crystals and can vary in colour from gold – grey. It is also known as the Tempest stone or eagle's eye. Discovered in Namibia by Sid Pieters it has colours similar to Tigers Eye and exhibits the property of chatoyancy. The energy associated with Pietersite is one of clarity and it is a powerful meditation stone with a strong connection with spiritual truth and giving insights into life's purpose. Pietersite is a stone of vision and can be used for a vision quest or shamanic journey and works strongly with the body in moving meditations.

It is said to be good for alleviating feelings of being scattered and disorganized and for increasing creativity. Pietersite is also associated with healing high blood pressure and muscle tension and dis-eases caused by not following your own truth. It is said to stimulate the pituitary gland and harmonise the endocrine system.
