By Emma, Wrexham View ProfileAn Introduction to Developing Mediumship is an excellent CD for anyone who is interested in developing mediumship or psychic ability. It is an introduction, so suitable for a complete beginner, or the more advanced. Gordon Smith is clear and grounded; with his down to earth attitude cutting right through the psychic fluff! The first CD lasts about an hour and he talks about the importance of self-development and self-healing for becoming a clear channel and utilising our 5 senses more consciously as a basis for developing the 6th sense. He talks about unhealthy attachments to spirit guides and some of the other pitfalls upon the psychic path which we can get stuck on, such as spiritual ego and losing touch with reality and tips on how to overcome these issues. Working in the heart-centred way that he does, Gordon talks about a technique for getting focused and overriding the ‘am I right or wrong?’ obstacle to readings. He also talks about healing, so healers may also find this CD useful too.
He includes use of symbols in mediumship and how to converse with spirit once you get a link, how to get the message for the person and then delivering that message. He encourages a meditative approach which goes within and emphasises the necessity of learning to focus and discipline the mind. The second CD has 3 short 10 minute guided meditations. The first meditation is designed to increase Spiritual Awareness; the 2nd is an Introduction to Spirit Guides and the 3rd about sending Absent Healing. Because they are so brief this makes them ideal for beginners or for quickie meditations. The only complaint I have was that the first CD was too short; I could listen to him for hours!
