Review(s) for CD: Enrich Your Relationships

The first part of this CD, ‘
'Enrich Your Relationships', is a guided visualisation that can be done alone or with another; not just an intimate partner. Initially the listener is prompted to pay attention to their body, then to notice images that surface from the subconscious which represent their masculine and feminine aspects. I found Simonette Vaja’s voice a pleasant one, which is musically soft on the ear but grounded with strength. Throughout there is subtle occasional music, chanting and chimes, interspersed with brief periods of silence. The visualisation culminates in a period of integration and grounding. Although guided, the CD is structured in such a way that it prompts the listener to pay attention to their self. I find it to be an empowering and useful self-awareness/development CD which helps me to centre, re-balance and connect to my true self. It has shed light on and increased my awareness and integration of my masculine and feminine aspects and my way of being with others.

The second part of the CD is the 'Lovers Meditation for Connection and Intimacy'. My partner and I found the background music in this part a little irritating at times, but not intrusive enough to be distracting. The listeners are led through steps such as breathing, eye gazing and touch to encourage each to be fully present, to connect and engage with each other. For those who may be looking to increase intimacy with their partner this CD could be an excellent tool to do just that - it helped my partner and I to re-connect at a deeper level. The suggestions that Simonette uses are not overly specific, which allows partners to decide for themselves what area of intimacy they wish to deepen whether that be spiritual, emotional or sexual. For those who are single, the first part of this CD is still a valuable meditation which stands alone in itself.
