Review(s) for The 8th Chakra - What it is and how it can transform your life

The 8th chakra is split into 3 sections 'Understand', 'Feel' and 'Be'. In Understand Jude discusses some of the scientific principles behind the Cosmic Hologram, including space and time, universal forces, the harmonics of creation, light and sound, co-creation, destiny, free will and cosmic flow. Part II introduces the mind, heart and will and includes information about the first 7 chakras, then goes on to talk about the Schumann resonance, geopathic stress, the Unity grid of Gaia, magnetic pole reversals, crop circles and then delves into astrology and 2012. In part III Jude talks about heart centred soul healing, archetypes, seedpoints (with a great meditation) and more about the 8th chakra. She describes the 12 steps on the journey of the Soular hero, then onto spiral dynamics of human awareness and the book ends with some useful meditations, such as the Universal heart and earthstar chakra meditation.

The book contains a wealth of information, much of which I have come across on my own journey – at a basic level I hasten to add! I was very excited about reading this book, expecting to learn more about the 8th chakra itself, but found the title somewhat of a misnomer, or that I’d missed the point. A glossary would have been very handy to help ground some of the information. Despite not being able to grasp it, I still feel it is a book I would recommend to those interested in the merging of science and spirituality; Jude Currivan certainly has some interesting information and experience to impart. And, the Universe provides! In the archives on hayhouseradio.com I came upon by chance an interview with Jude Currivan about the 8th Chakra. From listening to this interview, it brought together some of the information for me and is well worth a listen as a companion to the book.

The 8th chakra may be particularly appealing to astrologers, sound therapists, dowsers, geomancers, numerologists, those interested in 2012, personal development and also healers interested in the transpersonal chakras.

Dr Currivan has a Masters Degree in Physics and specilaises in cosmology & quantum physics. I don't. I really struggled with 1st 100 or so pages of the book. It isn't badly written, it is that I just don't really get nor am I very interested in, very indepth sciencey stuff. If science does float your boat or you are interested in how science & spirituality are converging, I suspect you'll love it.

However I did enjoy the next 150 odd pages. Here I was on firmer ground, chakras, astrology, ley lines, scared sites, healing & spiritual self-development.Towards the back of the book there are also some very beautiful meditations to follow.

Even though the 1st part of the book went 'whooosh' over my head, I still found it extremely interesting and informative. So much is covered by Currivan that there is sure to be something of interest to almost everyone.
