Triskele Definition and Triskele Products

Triskele - Rebirth, eternity
The triskele, or triskelion as it's also known, has links with both Celtic and ancient Greek traditions.

The three spirals of the Celtic tri sceal (where three spirals come out from a central point) represent birth, death and rebirth and the eternal circle of life. Also these three aspects are sometimes seen as representing the nature, human and divine aspects of life and also the sacred aspects of the triple goddess - maiden, mother and wise woman. According to Greek myths, however, (triskelion means 'three-leg' in Greek) it was the Celts who adopted the symbol from them. In ancient Greece it was associated with progress and competition, and was often used on coins.

The emblem is still used today in the Scilly Isles and the Isle of Man.
