The cross with the bottom point longer than the rest, is seen by Christians as a symbol of great power and reverence. Christians believe Jesus Christ to be the son of God, yet he was raised on earth by Jesus and Mary. In this act the crucifix can be seen as a symbol of ultimate faith. Jesus knew he would die but he knew that that was what must happen for the greater good of the people. So he was following the will of God. People from many walks of life now wear crucifixes to show their faith, and to symbolise their belief that through true sacrifice and listening to the higher voice inside themselves they can attain freedom, spiritual nourishment and beauty in their lives.
