Gordon Smith includes in his Introduction to the Spirit World, a great deal of grounded, valuable information about the mechanics of development. His common sense approach is refreshingly honest and demystifying. The first CD is a recording of a live workshop which he opens by discussing the difference between a psychic and a medium. He talks about getting to know ourselves, our inner voice, through meditation as the foundation for beginning to work with and identify what is and what is not spirit. The steps to meditation include information on posture, relaxation and breathing. The subsequent bi-products of meditating and development include discussion on healing, compassion and natural prayer.

He places much importance on taking responsibility for Self, rather than passing things off as 'spirit'. He talks about what he thinks ghosts are, getting beyond the need for phenomena and looking for rational explanations first. He discusses thought forms from spirit and from other people, and checking into our higher self to understand our own bad vibes. His thoughts on spirit guides and aspects of consciousness are very interesting. He explains about setting up circles, considerations for doing so and linking up with spirit guides and how they work with us. He continues with information about platform work and the conditions some may place on a medium of using codes to prove our loved one still exists. His approach to sceptics and proving himself is rather amusing!

In the second CD which includes 3 meditations, well what can I say! It took me several listens before I could go beyond swooning at his gentle Scottish lilting voice!
