The Colour Book is aptly named, for it could brighten up the dullest of days. Everything you wanted to know about colour is here, from the science of it through to how it can change your life. Lori Reid has divided the book into three sections, the psychology of colour, its healing qualities and your personal colours. The sections within the book are colour coded for easy reference. The text is presented in small paragraphs and is illustrated with beautiful colour photographs, colour wheels of all hues too. The book looks at the relationships of colour to crystals, healing, Feng Shui, also how to bring in and use colour within the home, garden and kitchen. It's an ideal book to read if you haven't a lot of time to spare, say in a coffee break, as the chapters are short and the subjects aren't covered to any depth.

The book comes with two extra features to take out and use; there is a set of colour cards and a glossy Aura Soma poster. The colour cards are fun as you can find out which areas of colour can enhance your day; you can see what to do if you are 'feeling blue'. I could have looked at the Aura Soma poster for hours, just admiring the little bottles in all their glory, learning how they can balance your well- being holistically. Again, the subject is just touched upon but addresses are provided for those wishing to research further.

I enjoyed the section on choosing colours to suit skin tone and which colours to avoid. You can even find out how different eye colour can denote a personality type. I was intrigued too about how your choices of crystal relate to Zodiac......more
