Amethyst - Spiritual, calming
The wonderfully coloured amethyst, with its variety of shades of purple reminds us of the spiritual thread that runs through our life and can be used as a tool to aid spiritual awakening and intuition. Amethyst can bring a calming influence and therefore be of great help in times of change. It's excellent to hold or have by you when you're practicing meditation and when placed in a room it can help absorb negativity. Placed under the pillow it may help you sleep better.
Smoky Quartz - Protective, focus, grounding
The characteristic smokiness of smoky quartz is caused when quartz is exposed to very low levels of natural radiation from surrounding rocks or radioactive elements over a very long period of time.
The energy of smoky quartz is protective and empowering. It reminds us of the need to cut through superfluous information to get straight to the point, and remain focused and 'in the moment' all the time. It's a handy tool to use during meditations or ceremonies, when you want to be aware of subtle energies, but also remain grounded. Plus, it can be useful to have around in the work place, when you're dealing with difficult situations or people.
Peridot - Breath of life, growth, heart
Also sometimes known as olivine. Much of the world's peridot comes from the USA. A significantly large amount of this is located on Native American Apache land and only Native Americans from the San Carlos Apache reservation are allowed to mine this area.
Peridot has a wonderful vibrant, cleansing and rejuvenating energy. The slightly clear olive coloured green (most common) is often captivating to look at. It has a warm and friendly kind of energy and is especially beneficial for cleansing and healing the heart chakra and was used in this way by the Incas, Aztecs and Egyptians.
Its free, open and forward moving energy can be used to help us feel the kind of energy that is needed for us to push forward a more prosperous, unhindered growth and encourages us to breath deep fresh air into our lungs and realise the enjoyment that can be had on planet earth.
Garnet - Balance, thirst for life
Garnet is a regal looking, often translucent crystal. Red garnet has a real depth of colour. If it were a little scarcer it would probably be a really expensive stone. It is a stone of health, physical strength and energy. It helps activate ones internal fire, ones charisma and thirst for life. Garnet is a good stone to wear or have around you when you wish for order and balance in your life. It is a stone of emotional warmth and commitment, often used to demonstrate this between couples.
Citrine - Creativity, sunny disposition, fruitfulness
Citrine is often found in areas where there has been intense heat (in the past or present), such as volcanic regions. When amethyst is heated in this way, it turns into citrine.
Citrine is a stone that often reflects light in a sunny and warming fashion. It is a crystal of creativity and positive expression of who we truly are. This gives us a good feeling and impacts on those around us in a positive way.
It can be considered a great stone to have around you in a business or work environment as it promotes good communication, a positive disposition and fruitfulness and because it helps you to feel your own true worth, so you will be able to put your views across in a direct yet amenable way. It is also a relaxing crystal and helps promote laughter, relaxation and good feelings. The energy of citrine can help us feel more balanced and eliminate negativity.
Topaz - Realignment, abundance, cleansing
Negativity and tension do not like to be around topaz and hence topaz is often seen as a cleansing crystal. As such it helps you connect with what is real within you and release what really is not worth worrying about. On connecting with your inner self this can bring about joy, inner and outer abundance as well as love and relaxation. Topaz can help open up the real you and strengthen your connection to your spiritual path. It promotes creativity and reminds us of the value of verbalising thoughts and ideas, rather than keeping them inside.
In addition to the above certain types of Topaz bring other attributes:
Blue topaz has an inherent calming energy and, like many other blue stones, is a useful tool for those working with the throat chakra where it may help you speak your truth.
Golden topaz (sometimes known as imperial topaz) boosts our energy, drive and our own natural charisma. The energy of golden topaz is one of connection to the divine nature of all things and as such can help us connect to our own inner wisdom more freely.

By Jackie, East Sussex This is a beautiful piece of jewellery which would adorn any outfit due to its wonderful crystals in most colours, which complement each other and have a terrific shine. The piece is delicate in design but very substantial with abundant large and smaller stones all set in a gorgeous silver flower shape, or star. It would look great on a collar or chain and is versatile too. Who would crave diamonds when these crystals are so magnificently coloured? A "5" rating doesn't do it justice - I rate it at a 10.
