Size: 100 mlDescription of aroma: Very faint, barely perceptible aroma - almost odourless.Colour: Very pale clear yellowTexture: A light yet rich, fine-textured oil, similar to sweet almond. Pleasant to use, it is quite easily absorbed, has good penetration and leaves little oily residue or greasy feeling on the skin. Points of interest: Peach kernel oil, as its name implies, is obtained from the kernel, or nut, of the peach fruit. It can be used instead of Apricot kernel oil, being similar in properties, consistency, appearance and weight.Uses: Possessing wonderful revitalizing, nourishing, regenerative and moisturizing properties, peach kernel oil helps prevent dehydration, smoothes wrinkles and encourages elasticity and suppleness in all skin types. It is especially beneficial for sensitive or inflamed skin, such as with eczema or psoriasis conditions and exposure to sun or wind, and also delicate or mature complexions. Its regenerative and tonic effects help to cleanse and tighten the pores of the skin. It is particularly useful for facial massage blends. Peach kernel oil is used in the soap industry and is a popular ingredient in cosmetics, such as creams, lotions and lip balms. Try it as an effective make-up remover.Notes: This oil contains vitamin E which has therapeutic, antioxidant and preservative properties, and also vitamin A - if not over-refined. It is also high in essential polyunsaturated fatty acids. The highest quality is cold-pressed from the kernels of the fruit. It can be used 100% but may be a bit expensive for this luxury. Fortunately it is equally effective in dilutions of 10 - 50% in carrier oils such as grapeseed, sweet almond and jojoba. Safety precautions: Peach oil must be avoided by anyone with an allergy to nuts.A base oil or carrier oil is an oil that can be used for massage by itself or as a carrier for pure essential oils. The addition of these essential oils gives the oil an aroma which will have a positive impact upon health in way that depends upon your choice of oils. A recommended amount would be up to six drops of pure essential oil into 10-15 ml (about 2-3 teaspoons) of base oil. Vegetable oils used in aromatherapy should be cold pressed or refined without the use of chemical agents (all ours are) as some vegetable oils in supermarkets may have been extracted with the help of a chemical agent.About Holisticshop.co.uk own brand oils:Originally the Holisticshop range of oils went under the name of Windflowers. This company was founded by a qualified aromatherapist, selling high quality oils to shops and aromatherapists throughout UK and the world. In October 2003 the opportunity came up for Holisticshop to buy Windflowers, which we did. This acquisition has meant Holisticshop customers can now buy high quality oils at the price professional aromatherapists would expect to pay. These are aromatherapist quality oils. Lower quality oils are available on the market but we continue to pick the best quality source for every oil. For example Windflowers lavender oil is "High Alpine" lavender from Mount Ventoux in the Pyrennes and the ylang ylang is the "complete" oil, not the ylang ylang II or III which come from a different stage in the distillation process.
